Roberdo Raval – Hedonistic Freelancer

This promotion campaign from an Russian ice cream manufacturer provoked some controversies recently: The slogan on this advert tells something like: Inside dark, outside white. Some call it tasteless, some other even racist. In my opinion this is a pretty good advert simply because good promotion has to provoke to generate attention and communication. In this respect it is pretty much connected to modern art which follows the same rule. And finally its simply funny. People who regard this to be racist may have a complex or at least a cramped relation to to the fact of mankind’s different races.

My mate Schwa from BEEF records just returned from lovely Australia to his home town Prague. He spend quite some years on the better end of the planet and founded his live project Shades Of Gray down there together with a friend. After some years of diligent work they established not only very serious production skills but also their very own style. This live set was recently recorded in Japan when Schwa stopped there on his way back to Europe. Wicked stuff for the upcoming outdoor season!

Yeah, yeah, yeah: Since a few days we are experiencing excellent spring weather over here in Germany with loads of golden sunshine, clear blue skies and gorgeous first blossoms on the meadows around! Ordinary on the one hand but still again and again so beautiful on the other I snapped some early flowers today – take a look at the gallery section!

Back on track from 2 weeks rambling around in Berlin, Mecklenburg and surroundings its about time for some fresh dose for your ears! Last weekend I spend in the area around Fusion festival with my mates from Fortschritt3000 and as always when I return from Mecklenburg, I am pretty much enthusiastic about cool Tech House soundz… So I picked a nice little mix by Molle aka Molono.Bass / Kombinat100 and Nick Hansen for you today. Warm and uplifting dance music with a housey edge, perfectly appropriate for the upcoming spring season!

Its pretty funny to see that there are specialized scenes for quite every activity conceiveable: Dynamite fishing, collecting bogeys… what ever. Beside my passion for surfing the internet, the oceans and the couches of this planet I really enjoy taking pictures as you might already have realized. A passion not everybody understands in this respect is my enthusiasm for ghost towns, ruins and abandoned buildings. But as I now found, there is quite a huge scene for this activity called the Urbex scene which stands for Urban Exploration. At the moment I am staying in the Berlin area and some days back I made a very exciting expedition to an abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium. Though not really brilliant light conditions these days, the trip to this vast complex of buildings turned out to be one of my most amazing urban explorations so far and delivered quite some nice shots: Have a look at the gallery section!

Der kürzeste Weg zu dir selbst führt um die Welt! lautet ein Sprichwort, welches ich persönlich sehr beherzige. So erwarb ich auch spontan ein Buch, dessen Klappentext mich in dieser Hinsicht ansprach:

Wirklich knapp scheint das Budget des jungen Herrn Jacobi nicht zu sein: Bereits auf den ersten hundert Seiten, die ihn von Alaska bis zur mexikanischen Grenze führen, gibt er einen hohen vierstelligen Betrag aus. Nun gut, dass die Harvard- Studenten nur sehr selten aus schlecht situierten Verhältnissen stammen ist hinlänglich bekannt. Vielleicht haben diese auch eine etwas andere Auffassung des Begriffs Abenteuer- jene Situationen, welche ich darunter verstehe, werden vom Erzähler zumindest oft durch bargeldlosen Zahlungsverkehr umgangen.
