I love Hotze. And I also love Wild Life, another comic by the illustrators Bringmann & Kopetzki. So I was kind of freaking out when I found these two little cartoons today! Even if you do not understand German language you will totally understand the plot. Simply awesome stuff!
My booze buddy Sam@chaishop.com and me managed to record another Mojito-drenched episode of our History Edition. This time we played some of our favorite Progressive Trance tunes from 2004 which again was a really amazing year for this genre: On the one hand the Freq album Strange Attractors was released- in my opinion all the Progressive Trance you get to listen to nowadays is just a footnote to that release. On the other hand Sebastian Krüger and Greg Coyle delivered the final kick-off for the ongoing trend for Progressive House: Their album Randy Expander was a milestone and inspired lots of Trance artists who are doing some kind of Techno nowadays. So in my opinion these were probably the most influential releases for the modern Progressive Trance scene and one still hear the impact.
This is kind of unusual music for this blog. Its not electronic but real band sound and it totally kicks ass, otherwise you wouldn’t read these lines of course. Jane Walton played a great gig at the spring party on the site of Fusion festival which I could not attend because I was busy partying Grünanlage and OV Silence Summer Opening in Hamburg that weekend. But luckily my mates from 3000° recorded it and so here we go!

It’s a huge pleasure for me to present this DJ set, simply because it is one of the very best ones I have heard in more than 10 years of deep passion for electronic dance music. These 76 minutes of music meant a huge source of inspiration for me and so did the dude who mixed it, Chris Wedekind aka D-Nox. Though I had a preference for progressive and kind of techy sounds since the very beginning, it was actually him who rose my interest for clubby music when I was still totally into the Psytrance scene at the beginning of the new century. This brilliant set from February 2004 is simply killer concerning its composition, the variety of music and the frisky atmosphere created. I wrote about it just a few weeks ago when I published a recent DJ set by D-Nox: It used to be the perfect soundtrack for my summer of love 2004 which I spend rambling around from festival to festival, playing gigs and having a more than wicked time. Perfect sound for the open air season, perfect to go totally crazy, to have sex, to drive a car… whatever! This is for the summer!

Bento is the Japanese name for food to take away which is usually sold in small plastic boxes. AnnaTheRed rearranges the food to funny little pictures which are often inspired by video games and anime. You will find quite some impressing and appetite stimulating pictures on her flickr site.
In contrast to the really poor flyer Waldfrieden’s Hai In Den Mai festival was an absolutely amazing event. Arriving at the rolling venue in the middle of nowhere on Friday morning just one hour before our set it was pretty foggy and also very cold compared to the Mediterranean climate I left only two days before. The camping was really well filled and walking towards the actual party area I really felt like on a typical German festival. The dance floor was pretty empty when I crossed it but that should not last for a long time… Read the rest of this entry »
Sol, Calimocho y Marisco- that’s what it was all about during my visit in Valencia. The city has a huge and very beautiful park area, the amazing Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias by Santiago Calatrava and -very important point- also a beach. I had an absolutely terrific time down there, check out the pictures section for some photographic impressions!
