Xperimentations

Juli 31st, 2009

Ok, this is pure procrastination… But still pretty a pretty funny one: Feed the eyeball with drugs and watch the effects! Sometimes there are some exciting little games included as well.

Manned Cloud

Juli 30th, 2009

I really want a room when this project is realized some day: Manned Cloud is a hotel airship that shall travel around the world within 3 days. Featuring an earth-view restaurant and a sky-view lounge with removable transparent roof this should be a pretty wicked experience…

Article for Psychedelic Traveler magazine

Juli 26th, 2009

Psychedelic Traveller is quite a smart thing: After the annual scene report magazine Trancers Guide To The Galaxy was stopped due to the increasingly difficult economic situation, scene freak Liese took over the project. He had to change the name of this publication but that aint bad at all because he added some cool new ideas to the project: Psychedelic Traveler is now also a Trance Wiki with the typical structure of this kind of Social Software. That means everybody can contribute and is aksed to do so! Beside that you should keep your eyes open for the free printed mag at relevant parties and festivals. I myself contributed to this very positive project by writing the report for the German Trance scene again.

Free – Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business

Juli 24th, 2009

Just a short note about a highly interesting issue I discovered today: Chris Anderson, chief editor of technology magazine Wired, just published a new book named Free. He introduces a revolutionary, though not brand new, idea of economics: In his opinion “every industry, which becomes digital, eventually becomes free”. As a big fan of creative common rights, open source software and last but not least a passionated blogger, I like this idea very much. I have no idea of the exact content yet, but that can easily be changed because Anderson published his book in many different ways: You can get it for money as a printed hardcover version but it also is available for free in many ebook stores at the moment. You will find a full-length free audiobook version right here. The abridged audio book version is fee required again but you will get it for free if you purchase the hardcover book. I will come back to this issue for a review as soon as I heard / read the book!

Zozoville

Juli 23rd, 2009

I never neglected that there is not only amazing party but also some really good arts going on in the German capital. Zozoville is a perfect example: The gallery of Johan Potma and Mateo is not this kind of polished, clean place where you find single pictures on white walls. No, this gallery is more kind of a workshop, filled with lots of funny interior and featuring a very cozy and personal atmosphere. But of course its actually the fantastic pictures of these dudes which make Zozoville special: Showing monsters and strange creatures, they create a complex, sometimes funny, sometimes sad and dramatic atmosphere. Love the painting style and will definitely head this place next time I visit Berlin!

Paolo Roversi photography

Juli 20th, 2009

It’s not really big news that a special charisma is less the result of certain physical features but depends much more on the character of a person. Just have a look at all the mainstream fashion and advertise photography and all its soulless zombies, pulling weird faces. Perfect beauty, edited in Photoshop. Paolo Roversi regards a model to be kind of performer, in his opinion most young women can be models. So his work represents a refreshing alternative interpretation of beauty in times when everybody looks the same: Dressed up to the maximum and therefore really bizarre in most of the cases.

Beat Pharmacy

Juli 18th, 2009

You are one of those persons who think Dubstep is, well… interesting… but you still consider it to be a little lame? So, this excellent mix by Beat Pharmacy aka Brendon Moeller might change your mind. Very powerful and pushing, heading towards Dub Techno from time to time, it should convince even the more hyperactive ones.

Techno City

Juli 17th, 2009

i.Saw : USB powered chainsaw

Juli 15th, 2009

This is what we all have been waiting for: Finally there is a USB powered chainsaw available! Smart, no? Well, a closer look reveals a funny non-profit PR campaign: It admonishes people only to print out stuff if they really need it, to save paper and therefore trees. As a gimmick you can download an application that plays the sound of a chainsaw every time you print. Being not a real ecologist but a digital lover, I support this campaign! As mentioned I am working on my thesis at the moment and using a fantastic literature database, the even more fantastic possibilities of an online journal library, combined with my old music production setup with two monitors, my consumption of paper is extremely slight, though my work has already progressed quite far. In this way I also can achieve my targeted aim of time- and place- independent working. Go digital!

The Farm Fountain

Juli 13th, 2009

The Farm Fountain is a system for growing edible and ornamental fish and plants in a constructed, indoor ecosystem. Based on the concept of aquaponics, this hanging garden fountain uses a simple pond pump, along with gravity to flow the nutrients from fish waste through the plant roots. The plants and bacteria in the system serve to cleanse and purify the water for the fish. Using LED lights, the whole construction can be powered by a solar panel and a simple accumulator. On the homepage of the developers you will find a detailed instruction how to built your own Farm Fountain. This project is meant to be kind of Open Source and discussion about ideas and improvements can take place in the forum.

Adam Freeland went to Brighton…

Juli 10th, 2009

…and all we got was this lousy mixtape! Have fun with this electronic interpretation of true Rock music! Adam Freeland is simply unique concerning his style, not everybody’s cup of of tea but a real banger for all the original Party Animals out there.
