Aus der Seele spricht mir dieses hervorragende Büchlein, das ich vor kaum einer Woche von einem guten Freund aus Berlin geschenkt bekam. Damit bewies dieser die angenehme Eigenschaft, sich selbst nicht zu ernst zu nehmen. Denn was Wash Echte in seinem Werk zum besten gibt, ist eine vor Ironie und Humor triefende Abrechnung mit dem Lebensstil all jener, welche die deutsche Hauptstadt und mit ihr sich selbst als das Nonplusultra in Sachen Coolness betrachten. Dabei trifft der Autor in Kapiteln wie “Counter Culture”, “Essen gehen”, “Kreativität” oder “Projekte” einen Nagel nach dem anderen punktgenau auf den Kopf und beschreibt die deutsche Mentalität jener Zeitgenossen, die sich selbst als avantgardistisch und alternativ ansehen und dabei letzten Endes doch vor allem um die Aufrechterhaltung ihres Image gegenüber den anderen bemüht sind, präzise und pointiert wie es besser kaum gelingen könnte. Ich persönlich habe das Buch in wenigen Tagen verschlungen und bei der Lektüre nicht nur beständig geschmunuzelt, sondern immer wieder herzhaft gelacht. Einen unmittelbaren Eindruck liefert diese Leseprobe.
