With Funktion One sound systems on all 3 dance floors, another mind-bending decoration concept and an international party crowd, this year’s Indian Spirit Festival looks very promising in terms of having heaps of fun under the sun. The well-balanced line up includes all styles of the modern Trance scene, represented by lots of exciting artists, even my humble self will be on the decks again.

Das Hoffen hat ein Ende: Dieser Tage hat die Mannschaft von 3000° offiziell bekannt gegeben, dass es in diesem Jahr kein Festival geben wird. Nachdem die Mecklenburger im letzten Sommer einen echten Albtraum erlebten, in dessen Zuge ihr bereits ausverkauftes Open Air kurzfristig durch unerfüllbare Amtsauflagen ausgebootet wurde, ist es nachzuvollziehen, dass sie eine Wiederholung dieser Ereignisse auf jeden Fall vermeiden möchten. In dieser Hinsicht verliefen die Verhandlungen mit den zuständigen Behörden leider erfolglos. Zumindest für jene Örtlichkeiten, die der 3000 Grad Truppe für die Austragung ihres Festivals als geeignet erschienen; mit halbgaren Kompromisslösungen gibt sich die Truppe -wenig überraschend- nicht zufrieden.

Living his deep passions for painting and surfing since the 70ies, Steve Hoskin from New Zealand eventually discovered the perfect way to combine the two of them: Painting on surfboards. But in fact his amazing art goes even further. Sophisticated stucco work creates a one-of-a-kind three-dimensional effect, lending to the flat plastic planks a very lively moment. Asked about his motivational approach, Steve says that he wants to “take people back to a much simpler time, an era before the world became so complicated and hectic”.
