Transmissions From The Psychedelic Dungeon – Episode I
Mai 31st, 2012
The Astroboter keeps indulging us with top-notch mixtapes. He just even started a whole new podcast series named Transmissions From The Psychedelic Dungeon which turns out to be another superb piece of lisenting pleasure somewhere between Indie Rock, singer-songwriter stuff, and fluffy Ambient music.
From all the musical liaisons I had, my enthusiasm for Electro House was probably the shortest flash in the pan. However, this Nirwana bootleg by Tim Healey and Felguk is kind of cool. Available for free download!
Issue 9 of the London Street-Art Design Magazine has just been released. Didn’t read it yet but the table of contents looks great and the last editions have been top-notch!
Another free track by grandmaster Guts: “This is a cover of ‘You don’t have to worry’ by Doris & Kelley. For info ,this track was sampled by No I.D. for the last album of Common. My idea was to make a cover more sweet, no agressif with light & depth… Enjoy the sound if you have a good sound system & Pura Vida to everyone!”
Trentemoller compiled a Narko-Rock mixtape. If that is not self-explanatory enough, you’re probably in need of some musical catch-up. Or you should just have a listen.
I honstly have to say that I prefer the classic Dubstep stuff he produced under the moniker Headhunter, but then again this DJ set of Addison Groove kicks ass big time. It fires at only 125 BPM and comes with a very housey vibe, yet it’s wonderfully raw, experimental, broken and Acid-drenched. Hats off!
“Lithuanian photographer and artist Tadao Cern has been working on a series of hilarious portraits entitled Blow Job that depicts individuals enduring gale-force winds directly to the face.” Via Colossal.
Mushroom magazine turns 18 years this month, and as it should be for such a great aniversary the new edition is extensive like it has not been since many, many years: 128 pages full of the newest DJ & studio technology, fashion, and heaps of open air festivals, of course. Also I had an interview with surrealist Naoto Hattori, who contributed a really sweet cover picture. Check out the digital version or get your hands on the print version at all the big open airs!
Is it only only me or is there a trend for inspirations mixes since a while? However, I really like it and Protassov of Switchstance Recordings pampers us with one complementing his latest EP.
A new documentary about LSD. The trailer looks promising, although I feel quite saturated with information after reading a very extensive Albert Hofmann biography just recently. However, the substance was, is, and will remain a highly interesting subject.
