Dr. Albert Hofmann is dead. Shortly after the 65th anniversary of his discovery of LSD he died from a heart attack yesterday moring at 9 am in his home in Burg, Switzerland. Well, I hate personality cult so I definitely wont praise him as a prophet here but one thing is sure: This man and his work had a major influence on my life in many different aspects.
Rest in peace!

Drum´n`Bass is a kind of electronic music i have never been really into although I like this genre so much. Twice or three times a year I attend a D´n`B party -mostly while visiting some metropolis- and always have a really great time there. Now I met Patrick Viering, a musician from Kiel, Germany with a pretty huge background and style bandwidth. It was exactly 65 years back when Dr. Albert Hofmann synthesized lysergic acid dietylamide by random. Although working very precise and clean in his laboratory, the doctor got tripped on acid. Having the suspicion that this extraordinary state of consciousness had to do with this new substance he started his famous self- experiment three days later. I really despise personality cult so I wont pay homage to mister Hofmann. But we have to confess: Pretty smart turn this dude did 65 years ago…
Back again from last weekend´s exercise. Pretty exhausting one this time, 3 days non stop party. Atelier 44 in Hamburg was pretty nice, its kind of alternative club with a very cool underground flavor. Unfortunately I had massive problems with Final Scratch over there: First it was not enough space on the stage to set up everything and then the system was not playable because some feedbacks from the turntable disturbed the timecode… In the end I played from the Final Scratch CDs but that problems were really fucked up. Really bad experience with Final Scratch this time!
At the moment we are running a pretty cool contest on Chaishop.com – Its about the Trance scene, its lifestyle and what you love or hate about it. Creating this campaign was great fun for me and also seeing some people understanding this certain provocation with a wink and others dont is pretty interesting to watch… The prizes are pretty cool: You can win 2 tickets for this year´s BOOM for example! Am kommenden Freitag, den 11.04. wird im bisher noch wenig bekannten Hamburger Atelier 44 unter Beweis gestellt, dass Techno durchaus psychedelisch sein kann. Dafür wurde unter anderem mein geschätzter Kollege Dr. Krelm verpflichtet. Der sympathische Exiltexaner ist nicht nur ein Garant für guten Musikgeschmack und saubere Technik sondern auch für ausgelassene Stimmung. Auch meine Wenigkeit wird ein paar Scheiben über die Teller schicken. Verspricht in verschiedener Hinsicht ein lustiges Event zu werden! Hier ein kleiner appetizer:
