The Listening Station
März 10th, 2010Currently staying in Berlin, I went to the abandoned listening station on Teufelsberg (German for Devil’s Mountain) today. Quite a big complex that was used to espionage the Soviets and East Germans during the cold war. Obviously it is a popular spot, though it is fenced in, we met various other people there and unfortunately the whole place is covered with tags and graffitis (well, admittedly there are some rather good ones). But still a great place to go for, great views to the city and the surrounding nature and also impressing buildings. The highest dome has very special acoustics, a huge and fucking trippy reverb that is really kind of mind-bending… And finally, finally an opportunity to take some nice pictures again!
