No Mans Land 2007

Juni 26th, 2007

I have been to quite a few festivals during my entire life but this evening I am still under the spell of one event I will remember for a very long time: No Mans Land in Hungary was so much amazing- definitely one of the very best festivals I experienced!

I think the very special on this party was that certain mixture of perfect music and perfect people. No Mans Land was claimed to be a pure Progressive Festival and the variety reached from real progressive trance acts like Element, Ace Ventura, Human Blue or Symphonix up to serious minimal / techno artists like Extrawelt, Shuma or Minilogue. All the people coming to this event really appreciated this sound, there was nobody crying around like “Can you please play some Goa?” like it often happens at classical trance events that turned into more progressive events. No, everybody loved the sound there and was partying like crazy for Minimal Techno as well as Progressive House. Some highlights were definately Ace Ventura who made a really variating DJ Set, Son Kite who kicked peoples asses with a Hale Bopp remix, Antix who got minimal and made fraggels go banana or Extrawelt of course who finished the event after 5 days of only cool music.

Actually there where not so many people coming, I think the promoters went minus pretty bad. But this induced a very, very familiar atmosphere! On the third day everybody knew everyone and people really celebrated together as one big techno tribe. You went to the dancefloor and greeted so many people from so many different nations. It was amazing to talk and party with people from Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Israel, England, Spain… just to name a few nations. I made some really nice friendships over there and am looking forward to meet all this nice people again some time!

The second night there was a really terrible thunderstorm, I think I never experienced something like this before. Branches where falling onto the tents and suddenly it came to my mind that it might be dangerous to sleep in the forest during such a thunder… But actually I felt asleep a few minutes after that and nobody was seriously hurt that night. But the next morning the festival looked like a battlefield: Lots of the decoration was destroyed and also some shops where totally fucked up. But people stuck together and rebuilt quite a few things so the floor looked nice again 24 hours later.

And there is another thing to mention: Hungarian Sun is really aggressive! The temperatures where around 27 degrees all the time and the first day I did not wear a t-shirt. My back looks like a snake changing its skin today…

All together it was a very big pleasure to be there! Special greetz to all the people reading this who where there too! Now I talked enough… Have a look at my foto gallery I just added… It speaks for itself ;)

I love technivals so much!

YEAH…The Belgium party posse! Was really nice to celebrate with you dudes at this remarkable party!

Portugal is definitely one of my favorite countries, beautiful countryside, beautiful people, nice waves… and very nice parties… I am not sure if I will make it to Freedom, but we see at BooM next year for sure ;) Keep me informed when there is a nice event in Belgium!
