Objekt – URB Mix

April 30th, 2013

A brand new DJ mix by Objekt which the Berlin-based producer delivers exclusively for URB. Those who are familiar with his style know what to expect: Raw, twisted Techno bangers, quite some vintage sounds, a proper pinch of Acid, lots of shifts ‘n shuffles in rhythm, everything mixed into a rousing groove. Bang!

A Witty Marketing Idea

I just discovered a new passion which is concrete surfing. In the recent course of events, I also stumbled upon an old passion: Puns and their usage in witty marketing.

Astrid Engberg – Poetry Is Gone

April 27th, 2013

A couple of days ago the guys from Phonosaurus Recs sent me a copy of Astrid Engberg’s forthcoming album Poetry Is Gone and I am pretty stoked about it. Besides its heavy beats and basses, it’s the great variety of moods that fascinates me. Sometimes the expressive voice of the singer dominates the atmosphere of a track, like for instance in the dreamy Away We Move or between the cinematic chords of Again. Then again it meets the energetic Rap of Mattic, creating a wonderfully dope vibe. Sweet music for summer days and summer nights!

Kruder & Dorfmeister – Liquid Acid Mix

April 21st, 2013

Apparently an old, but timeless mix by Kruder & Dorfmeister. Sunlit grooves, laid-back yet inspiring, the kind of music which made the Austrian duo probably most popular. Via Das Kraftfuttermischwerk.

70th Bicycle Day

April 19th, 2013

It’s been 70 years since Albert Hofmann conducted his first wilful self-experiment with LSD. His iconic bike ride home became the probably most popular metaphor for his invention today. An invention that had a huge impact on the world as we know it because it works at its most crucial source of innovation and change: The human conmsciousness.
